In Indonesia, foreign companies and industries need employers who are professionally skillful. Their expectation to Polytechnic graduates is high since it is a vocational higher education which provides students with skills that are related to the company and industries of their study field. For English Department Polytechnic, the teachers must apply industry teaching of how to build relationship or link between companies or employees. Therefore, Public Speaking subject is provided. In this research, the writer applied Descriptive Method. She studied the weaknesses and difficulties of the students during their performance and presentation in Public Speaking 1 classroom which consists of 45 students. They writer observed by using field note and recorded by using voice recorder to collect the data. After collecting and analyzing the data for six months or one semester, the writer found out that the students have difficulty in language, grammar and structure, and words choice. Thus, the teachers of Public Speaking 2 must implement teaching technique that will overcome students’ weaknesses and difficulties above.
