Abstract

The impregnation of the oil palm trunk with polypropylene waste which has been modifield with acrylic acid has been carried out. Sellulose as a natural polimer of the oil palm trunk interacted with polypropylene and the mechanical properties of the oil palm trunk was increased. The impregnation of the oil palm trunk with polypropylene was carryed out at the condition of 1, 2 & 3 jg/cm² with the duration time of 30, 45 and 60 minutes, respectively. The impregnation was 175 °C. The impregnated oil palm trunk was analyzed by measurement of modulus of Elasticity (MOE) and modulus of Rupture (MOR). The result showed optimum condition was at 1 kg/cm² and 60 minutes duration time. The value of MOE and MOR of oil palm trunk was increased.
