Abstract

The implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) in all Indonesian State Owned Enterprises (BUMN) can be seen as part of reformation agenda in government Institutions. In fact, the 'Indonesian government has been aware that GCG implementation will give a great impact on Indonesian economic recovery process. Although the implementation of GCG has been regulated by the regulation of Minister of State Owned Enterprises, it seems like the GCG is only a slogan. It Is evidenced by BPKP's scrutiny that most of BUMNs Implement GCG because it is perceived as mandatory per se rather than the awareness to implement it. Ideally, GCG should be a spirit and a means to control the daily company operations. In addition, business ethics should not be seen as a set of ·codes of conduct" but rather as corporate culture in BUMNs.
