Abstract

The presences of toxic gases are very harmful to health and safety of living things. One of these toxic gases is exhaust gases from motor vehicles, both two wheels and four wheels, such as CO (Carbon Monoxide). To be able to find out how many levels of CO in the flue gas of two-wheeled motor vehicles using gas sensors TGS 2600. Furthermore, the sensor voltage output changes TGS 2600 form an analog signal can be converted into a digital signal by ADC 0804 which in turn results in the form of binary conversion can be processed by the microcontroller AT89S51. Outcome of this AT89S51 microcontroller can be displayed on the LCD screen of parameter levels of CO in the flue gas motorcycles in units of ppm. Test results on several motorcycle shows that motorcycles that emit CO more than 9 ppm, then the bike does not meet health standards bases on Keputusan Menteri Negara Lingkungan Hidup Nomor: 141 tentang "Ambang Batas Emisi Gas Buang Kendaraan Bermotor tahun 2007"
