Abstract

Elektroplating is deposition proces of a protecting metal in which the deposited metal has an adhesive characteristc on the surface of base metal. In this experiment, the electroplating is compared by using current variable to find the comparison of plating process using gilder metal. This electroplating reguires high voltage current namely DC current while the voltage needed is low since the current used in electroplating is low voltage. Travo of 220 volt inlet and 12 volt outlet was used in the gilder equipment to produce 5 amphere current and the voltage variable from 2 volt to 8 volt by using second transformator of 3500 mA, a relay and a converter circuit with outlet of 12 volt and 5 volt which then parallelized with main transformator. Based on the comparison of various voltage used, it is found that the best plating result is in 2 volt to 4 volt as the product is more shine and smooth and this is in accordance with the theory.
